Brian Woodhouse is a Canadian contemporary artist based in Newmarket, Ontario. Entirely self-taught, he has spent years developing a distinctive style that combines technical realism with quiet, thought-provoking narratives. Brian maintains a dedicated studio practice, creating artwork that has been recognized through juried exhibitions.

Brian creates realist paintings and graphite drawings that explore the fragile relationship between perception, memory, and belief. His work is inspired by two psychological phenomena: the Illusory Truth Effect, our tendency to believe information simply because it is repeated, and self-deception, the stories we unconsciously construct to preserve our sense of certainty. His paintings and drawings are invitations to slow down, question first impressions, and recognize that the most convincing illusions are often the ones we create for ourselves.
